Right now I’m not sure if this is possible since Facebook is an external application, and BWP RC is designed for WordPress comments only.

Also, default image loads few time, if avatar is not present, anyway to store 1 image on local server, so it doesn’t load same image per user comment using multiple query.

Did the comment list show up very slowly on your website? Checking whether or not someone has a Gravatar is very costly…

Hello, Is there anyway to include facebook avatars in this too, I use otto’s simple facebook connect which allows users to post comments using facebook account. In recent comments widget it doesn’t show any other but gravatar image. Hi Khang,

Your plugin is beautifully coded (not that I am a coder!) and fits very nicely with what I had in mind for comments. In particular, it saves me from always having my face showing in the comments when I prefer to feature the words of my readers. Thank you.

There is one issue that I do not see mentioned here. Forgive me if I have overlooked it.

Pings/Trackbacks: The plugin has pulled one from the SPAM folder. (Really!) I had it set to show only 2 pings/trackbacks. It pulled one from the approved comments area, the other it pulled from the spam folder (there was only one in that folder). I’ve taken screenshots if that would be useful.

For now, I’ve turned the feature off. Is there something I can do to correct this or is this something you can look into? Thanks for your help.

That is caused by the long words splitting feature (in Formatting Options – ‘With long words, this plugin should’), just turn it off and the text will show up ok. You might need to add proper CSS rules to hide too long words though.

Khang, can you fix it?
Same trouble in standard WP recent comments widget the only reason I looking for any plugin to show recent comments, because I have a lot of such comments on my blog. (http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/12219)
May be it helps: Comments to attachments appear normally on dashboard in admin area.

Plugin don’t display comments on attachments in Recent Comments Widget.
There are only posts’ and pages’ comments appear.

I used CSS applied to the anchor – just strange that “small” is considered evil by WordPress…. thanks for the consideration

You are right, the ‘small’ tags are definitely stripped out.

BWP RC uses WordPress’s KSES function (a function to strip out evil HTML) and it seems like WordPress itself doesn’t allow that tag ether. Maybe for the next version I will let super admin add anything he/she wants to the templates.

For now, could you please just use CSS? Just add a class name to the ‘strong’ or anchor tags and then make the font smaller by using, for example, this:

.small {font-size: 0.9em !important;}

.small {font-size: 0.9em !important;}

That doesn’t work either even in these comments

The line I was going for is the following:

[a href="%link%" title="%post_title_attr%"][small][strong]%time%[/strong][/small][/a]

But the [small][/small] was stripped out when I clicked on the save changes button

I was trying to reduce the font size of the date by adding the [small] tag around the time tag so it would look like this:

%time%

This time I also took out the { } around the excerpt and put in [em] tags

When I clicked on the save changes button the em tags remained but the small tags were stripped out.
